About Misa

Over the past 13 years, Misa-Maria Isabela Alves has used her artistic talents to uplift a severely impoverished and neglected community in Cape Verde called the Rebelados. Her work has led the community to start local art-based businesses, create youth programs, and implement basic infrastructure to provide clean water and sanitation. Through her, work she has helped 350 families gain access to income and basic needs. Misa dreams of expanding her projects and bringing long-term sustainable livelihoods to her vibrant yet struggling community.
